Frequently Asked Questions

We understand lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.

Question 1: What is a Postnatal Doula?

A postnatal doula offers emotional, practical, and informational support to families in the early weeks and months after birth. My role is to nurture you - the mother - so you can rest, recover, and bond with your baby feeling calm and confident. I provide care that meets your unique needs, from gentle reassurance and practical help to guidance around feeding, recovery, and family adjustment.

Question 2: When should I book your services?

It’s ideal to book during pregnancy so we can plan ahead and ensure support is in place when your baby arrives. However, it’s never too late - whether your baby is days, weeks, or months old, I’m here to help whenever you need extra care and guidance.

Question 3: How do you tailor your support to each family?

Every family is beautifully different. I take the time to listen and understand your needs, routines, and preferences so that the care I offer feels natural and supportive — never intrusive or prescriptive. Together, we create a rhythm that works for you.

Question 4: Do you support partners too?

Absolutely. The postnatal period is a big transition for everyone in the family. I offer reassurance, information, and guidance to help partners feel confident and connected as they support both baby and mama.

Question 5: What is included in postnatal care and support?

In-person postnatal support may include emotional reassurance, light household help, meal preparation, support with feeding and newborn care, and space to rest and recover. Each visit is flexible and guided by what you need most on the day.

Question 6: How long does postnatal support last?

There’s no set timeframe - support can be short-term for the early weeks or ongoing over several months. We’ll create a plan that feels right for your family’s needs and rhythm.

Question 7: How does virtual/Whatsapp support differ to in person care?

I offer real-time responses with emotional support on Whatsapp, you don't have to wait for our next session! Information around baby care, feeding, recovery, and general postnatal wellbeing is provided as guidance because I cannot practically support you from afar. It’s a flexible, compassionate service designed to fit into your daily life - because every mama deserves to feel supported, not just those who can afford in-person care.

Question 8: What is the difference between a postnatal planning and nesting session?

Postnatal planning focuses on YOU, your recovery, a plan to support the sacred period you're about to step into.

Nesting is a practical session, I'll come to your home and help you prepare babies room, feeding stations, batch cook so you have nutritious food on hand when you get home.

Question 9: Can I bring my baby to Mamas Meet Ups?

Absolutely! As a postnatal doula I welcome you to find rhythm with your baby by your side. I'll be on hand to support with baby care, bottle prep if they're fussing, get you a hot drink, whatever it is that helps the process feel comfortable for you. I'll always happily hold your baby, however I would NEVER pick them up without your say so!

The only recommendation I have is to come with under 1's, however I can absolutely be flexible if you want to chat further about this - please reach out!
